Our medical staff consists of three Highly Dedicated and Qualified Specialists whose interests reach beyond general health services.

Mark T. Dean, M.D.

            Dr. Mark T. Dean is a board-certified specialist in orthopaedic surgery with a particular expertise in sports medicine and shoulder and knee injuries. After completing his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, he received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Dean completed his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. Subsequently, Dr. Dean did a fellowship in a shoulder and knee surgery and sports medicine at the prestigious Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. Dr. Dean has contributed many academic articles and book chapters to such publications as the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Review, and the Handbook of Sports Medicine. Additionally, he has lectured and the regional and national level on orthopedic topics with particular emphasis on shoulder and knee injuries, skiing, tennis, and golf related injuries. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and serves as a board member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine Fellowship Exam Committee in Sports Medicine. Currently, Dr. Dean is the team physician and assistant director of sports science for the Vandermeer World Class Elite Tennis program in Hilton Head and additionally, serves as a team physician for the United States Olympic Alpine Ski Team. Locally, Dr. Dean serves as the team physician for several area high schools athletic teams. He has also served as a team physician for the Denver Broncos, the United States Disabled Ski team. And the United States Pro Ski Tour. He is married to Brooke Dean, Ph.D., a Clinical Psychologist and has three children, Hunter, Elise and Jenna.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM*

Wednesday and Friday

8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

*Dr. Dean has rotating office hours on Mondays & Tuesdays, please contact the office for hours on those days.
